One of the COOLEST Expo’s out there! haha CANDY!

I recently had the honor of working with Sorbee (www.sorbee.com) at the 2010 Sweets and Snacks Expo and had a MAJOR blast!! They are some of the coolest people in the world to work with!! Good times and great people... the best combination. Oh and let’s NOT forget the COOL products they have as well?! :)

One of the coolest things about Sorbee is their heart to really help people. I had the honor of being in their booth asking people to sign the Crystal Light Candy Board... for every signature we got, they pledged to donate funding to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. HOW COOL IS THAT??! I LOVE IT!!! The JDRF has my heart and I will back them as long I’m alive! :) LET’S FIND A CURE!!!!!!

A QUICK Glucose PRODUCT for HYpoglycemia?!?

Is there a NEW, quicker, more convenient way to raise your low blood sugar coming soon?!?!

I recently heard of a new product to treat low blood sugars. It is an interesting product that is absorbed through the mucous membranes which has been proven to have a FASTER absorption rate as compared to intestinal digestion. Intestinal digestion can be around 15-20 minutes or more, but absorption through the mucous membranes can be 3-5 minutes. Now what do you say to getting your blood sugar level UP much quicker and avoid over eating!?!? It’s ALSO convenient to carry, discrete, tastes great and has a protein additive to stabilize the blood sugar from dropping again.

I want to know YOUR thoughts of this kind of product and METHODS of how YOU treat hypoglycemia... you can do one of 3 things to help me get your feedback and thoughts of this.

Jmiah Speaking At Augusta Tech Institute

MY PASSION IS... TALKING :) Seriously... To impart words into people’s minds & hearts to inspire them to live life at a higher level than where they are

I recently had the honor and privilege of speaking to a health class at The Augusta Technical Institute about Diabetes Awareness and Proper Care/Maintenance of being Type 1 or Type 2 diabetic. I myself, as many of you know have been Type 1 Diabetic since May of 1989, which is 21 years to date. :) I look back now and I’m grateful for the walk of life i’ve had... though not always easy but now I can appreciate all the hard times I went through.

I spoke to the class about my story, what I do, how i take care of myself and even did an example blood sugar testing right in front of them! lol I spoke to them about diet and nutrition, how eating correctly can prevent type 2 diabetes and give you better control of Type 1 diabetes, and I also did some questions and answers. It was an awesome time as my #1 passion is to be a representative to speak on behalf of a topic so misunderstood by many and to inspire others to manage their diabetes properly and/or defeat it by getting in better shape and eating clean foods on a daily basis.

THE WALK TO CURE... DIABETES!!!

I was asked back early this year to be the spokes person for North Florida’s JDRF Walk To Cure and on April 10th... it was AWESOME!!! I was excited to see SOOOOO many people raise over $144,000 for research to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes, which is the same type I have. I was so honored to see all
those people give of their time, resources, connections, etc for this cause.
One thing i have learned in this day and time of society is that people WANT to invest their
lives into something that will BETTER mankind, and I’m all about that!!!

My First 10k race...

I’ve NEVER ran an endurance race before... til now! WOW!!

Back in December, I decided to run my first 10k race. I’ve always been more of a high intensity workout kinda person, but I figured it’s time for me to better myself and strengthen my weaknesses by doing something I’ve never done before... and Im SOOOOOO glad i did it! :)

So i went to Jacksonville, FL last week to speak at the Walk To Cure Diabetes Captains Luncheon and hang out with the North Florida JDRF Chapter.

They were the SUPER COOLEST people... so hospitable, nice,
and passionate about getting a cure for people like me and all
the diabetics in the world! :)
